Last semester, we utilized the Union County Farm Bureau as our home base many times. It is a great space and we appreciate their generosity in sharing it with us as well as the support of Ms. Kenzie Dillow, UCFB Manager.
Recently we spent our morning with Kenzie and learned about her story as well as a lot of good information about the bureau. She started her position as manager in January, 2023. Born and raised in Anna, Kenzie grew up on a farm, raising and showing sheep. She graduated from AJCHS and earned a degree in communications from SIU and previously worked as a producer at WSIL TV. Her Union County ties and love for agriculture is evident in her enthusiasm and passion for her job at the Farm Bureau.
The UCFB has the largest membership of any similar organization in Union County. They are an invaluable resource for all things farming related and a huge advocate for farmers, landowners and the community on a regional, state and national level. Ag in the Classroom is an amazing program teaching about where our food comes from, sustainability, erosion and more! It is a free resource for our schools and something that the students and teachers look forward to!
Thank you Kenzie for your hospitality, your energy and knowledge! We had a great morning with you and learned so much about the UCFB and the many wonderful opportunities and resources they provide! We are very fortunate to have such an active and committed organization in our community.
