ROI Biologicals is a company dedicated to helping farmers get the most out of their crops! Owned by Cody Goins and located in Cypress, ROI Biologicals “is a leader in the development and delivery of biological solutions that improve soil health, increase crop yields, and reduce the use of synthetic chemicals.” Recently, Cody and General Manager, Chasity Chotner joined us to share the amazing story of how ROI Biologicals came to be.

Cody graduated from Vienna High School and enlisted in the Air Force. After four years, moved back him and started working with his dad selling ag related products. He was introduced to biologicals and became very interested in their uses, benefits and makeup. He enrolled at SIU and completed his bachelors degree in order to become an expert in the field. He felt knowing and understanding how the chemicals worked was important in order to be able to sell and manufacture those kinds of products.

Fast forward a few years and he had become an expert. ROI Biologicals are used by farmers across the country and in several other countries, and used right here by many of our local farmers. Their biologicals have been used to achieve world record holders for corn and soybean yields and are also used for everything from corn and soybeans to watermelon, cotton, peanuts and cabbage! The products are blended, manufactured and packaged at their plant in Cypress.

Cody shared some great tips with our young entrepreneurs such as:
1. Know your strengths and weaknesses.
2. Find people who are strong where you are weaker so you can build a strong team.
3. Customer service is KEY.
4. Be the expert and know your product.
5. Run your business ethically and with integrity.
