A visit to Shawnee Hills Lavender with Doug and Charlotte Clover is always a fun, fabulous and sometimes, frosty time! There is definitely still some frost on those early April mornings! The 2024 team handled the frost with some blankets and warm cinnamon rolls prepared by Charlotte and had a wonderful time!

Doug and Charlotte started their lavender farm after Charlotte read about them in a magazine. She talked Doug into one “last great adventure” and they began researching how to get it going. After a few trips, including one to Washington state to visit some lavender farms and plenty of research, they planted their first 200 plants. They opened for business for the first time in 2016 and found success!

Lavender has a short “season” so the “U-Pick” time is just a few weekends, usually in early June. Over the years, they have staffed those weekends with all family members and have added a gift shop, Lavender Lemonade and popsicles and even some local food trucks! These events are always well attended from community members and visitors who travel from other areas!

We want to thank Charlotte for having us out and sharing her morning with us! We appreciate getting to see and learn about this unique business and look forward to our next visit!
